Welcome
to Bingo Fundraisers! |
|
Bingo has two main followings,
games played mostly for fun and
small amounts of money or other
prizes put on as fundraisers, and
in casinos as a higher stakes game
of chance. Here we will take a
look at bingo as a smaller scale
fund raising event. Here in the
United States the most common
location to hold bingo games are
local churches, as well as various
types of schools across all age
ranges for the same reason (though
modified non-monetary prizes are
often giving in situations with
minors). By selling single use
bingo cards, as well as markers
for those cards that only last a
limited number of games, a good
sized crowd on a weekly basis can
provide a large amount of funding
for a small amount of effort once
a player base is established. Also
because of regular attendance at
these locations, very little time
and money must be spent to gather
a large crowd.

Other various causes
will also hold bingo
nights from time to
time, using donated
goods and gift cards
in place of money as
the prize, which is
often popular among
minors too young to
gamble. Based on the
fact that bingo is a
very simple game to
set up and run, the
large number of people
that can play at once,
and the ease of
learning the game,
bingo is a great
option for these fund
raising events. Often
people who want more
of a challenge, or a
higher chance to win
will buy and use more
than one card per
game, this can greatly
increase profits but
can slow games down
leading to less games
played overall. The
key to running a
successful bingo event
is to have a good
crowd, and fit in as
many games as
possible, because more
games played will mean
more cards sold. |
